AION 2 Server Transfer: dates, windows, requirements and limits

What it isAION 2 Global's first Server Transfer moves characters to another server in the same faction and region. It is free: 0 Quna.

WhenEarly Access servers: 14–21 October 2026. Launch servers: 21–28 October. Transfers are available only during your region's daily windows.

Europe windows12:00–16:00 and 18:00–22:00 CEST/CET. The windows stay at the same CET clock time when Europe switches to winter time on 25 October.

One transferOne transfer per account for the full period, from one server to another. Transfer any number of characters. It cannot be cancelled.

Before transferringCharacter must be level 10 or higher, in a settlement, outside a Legion and without active Duty Quests. Clear the Market, mail and Shop Storage. Server Storage does not transfer — move its contents to Character Storage.

What is Server Transfer?

On 14 October, AION 2 Global opened Server Transfer for the first time. It lets you move characters to another server to join friends or your Legion, or to find a different population. Open it in Shop → Server Transfer. The service is free this time.

You can transfer only within your faction (Elyos remain Elyos; Asmodians remain Asmodians) and region (Europe remains Europe). You can submit a transfer only once during this period. NCSoft calls the two groups Early Access servers and Launch servers. Capacity applies to transfers both to and from each server, and open slots are recalculated at the start of every hour. If either server reaches its limit, try again the next hour or week. NCSoft may close transfers to and from a server permanently if too many requests arrive. Limits still apply even if you already have a character on the destination server.

Dates and regional windows

Transfers are available daily in two short windows for each region.

Europe changes to winter time on 25 OctoberThe Europe transfer windows stay at 12:00–16:00 and 18:00–22:00 on the CET clock. Europe switches from CEST to CET on 25 October, so the UTC offset changes while the local window stays the same.

Transfer limits for each server

Each destination server has a transfer capacity. Popular servers may fill up, and some destinations may not appear as eligible. If a server cannot be selected, the game will explain that it is full or otherwise unavailable.

Choose a backup serverCheck with your Legion about where its members are going and choose a second option. A destination can reach its capacity before the transfer window closes.

Character requirements

Each character must meet all of these conditions:

The purchase button stays inactive until all conditions are met

Level 10 or higher, and currently in a settlement
Not in a Legion and no pending Legion application
No active Duty Quests
No Market listings, unsold proceeds or unclaimed mail
Shop Storage and mail are empty
Server Storage is empty; move Kinah to Character Storage
The destination belongs to the same region and faction and has capacity

Clear everything before applying

1. Prepare the characterFinish Duty Quests, leave your Legion and collect Market proceeds.
2. Empty storage and mailCollect attachments and clear Shop Storage, mail and Server Storage. Move Kinah into Character Storage.
3. Go to a settlementYou cannot apply from the Abyss or a dungeon.
4. Open Server TransferSelect a valid destination in the Shop. If it is unavailable, choose your backup.
5. ConfirmThe purchase button activates only when every requirement is met. After confirming, you return to the title screen and the account is unavailable until transfer completes.
6. WaitIt can take from one minute and longer during busy periods. PURPLE players receive a notification.
7. Log in and choose a nameEnter a new character name on first login, then check inventory, Character Storage and Kinah.

What transfers and what stays

Some progress belongs to the character, while other records are tied to the old server.

Currency

Kinah in your inventory and Character Storage transfers; Kinah in Server Storage does not. Quna and Pass Coins transfer in full and are added to the balances on the destination server.

Purchases

Your character is temporarily renamed @TemporaryName after the transfer. Choose its new name the first time you log in; you cannot keep a name already used on the destination server. Membership transfers and combines with the destination membership, while it is removed from the old server. Daeva Pass transfers with its current progress.

Special pets and shop skins transfer. If the destination already has the same special pet, you receive a Pet Reward Ticket and can request a refund through support. A duplicate skin without customization gives a Skin (Single) Reward Ticket, exchangeable for the 300-Quna shop item. Both tickets are valid until maintenance on 25 November 2026. Duplicates purchased in the Pass shop are refunded as Pass Coins.

Server Storage expansion on the destination becomes the higher of your old and new expansion levels, but its contents do not transfer. Style Shop styles remain available, but retain the old character name and server.

Progress and systems

Titles, achievements, skins, pets and Holy Stones transfer and combine with the destination progress; the old server is reset. Genus Insight cannot be combined: choose the progress from either the old or new server, and the old-server record is reset. Season ranking points (Transcendence, Nightmare, Ascension Trial, Abyss and Arena), Season Missions and their claimed rewards move with the character.

Remaining Expedition and Transcendence reward cubes, counters toward guaranteed rewards, and time in the Abyss, Rifts and Abyss Corridor transfer. Abyss Corridor is unavailable if your faction has not captured its corridor on the destination server. Server-wide rewards for Daily Dungeon, Shugo Festival and Dimensional Invasion transfer, while their records also remain on the old server. Character, skills, stigmas, quests, exploration, Daevanion, inventory and Character Storage transfer.

Alts left behind lose their skins and petsSkins and pet progress move with a transferred character. If you leave alternate characters on the old server, their personal skins and pets do not move to your new server.

How to apply, step by step

PrepareClear the Market, mail, Shop Storage and Server Storage; leave your Legion and finish Duty Quests.
ChoosePick a destination server and a backup in the same region and faction.
Apply during the windowOpen Shop → Server Transfer during your region's available hours and confirm the transfer.
ReconnectWait for processing, log in and choose a new name if prompted.

A transfer cannot be cancelledAfter you confirm, the request cannot be cancelled and you cannot move the character back. You cannot make another transfer on that account during this period.

Other changes during the transfer period

Until 28 October, NCSoft has adjusted some shop limits:

Odyle Energy in Wind Breeze Merchants → Special is no longer limited to 16 per server. The limit is now 20 per character per week, which helps players with alts.
Soul Crystals and Instant Clear Tickets have been removed from the Special tab for this period. The same quantities can be obtained through Substance Morph.
Coin shop limits: character limits remain as they are. For server limits, the higher used amount from the two servers applies. For example, 2/5 on the old server and 4/5 on the new becomes 4/5; transferring does not grant extra purchases.

Which server should you choose?

NCSoft does not publish official population figures, and transfers will change the picture. Before deciding:

Ask your Legion where its members plan to go.
A popular server may close to transfers once it reaches capacity.
Consider moving near the end of the stage, when the destination is clearer, but not in the final hour when capacity may run out.

Common mistakes

Kinah left in Server StorageIt does not transfer. Move it to Character Storage first.
Market listing still activeAn active listing or unclaimed proceeds keeps the transfer button inactive.
Character in the Abyss or a dungeonYou can apply only while in a settlement.
Expecting purchased slots to moveCharacter slots stay on the old server; a new slot may cost 1,000 Quna.
Trying to move from Early Access to LaunchTransfers are only allowed between servers in the same group during week one.
