The class
The Elementalist fights at range alongside summoned spirits. Spirits do more than add separate hits: their skills generate charges for Elemental Fusion, trigger Dimensional Control, and empower joint attacks. So success depends not only on dealing damage, but also on choosing the right spirit for the situation.
In PvE, the Elementalist deals steady damage and can fight alone, but damage depends on summon order, buffs, and whether spirits get to use their skills. In PvP, control, survival, and keeping Earth Spirit alive matter more. This guide is for Global; skill and specialization names follow the client.
Your role in combat
What you need to know
- Elemental Fusion becomes available after you have four charges. A charge appears when a spirit uses a skill, so summoning again alone does not always make the attack available right away.
- Each spirit has a role: Fire deals area damage, Water attacks one target and restores MP, Wind heals the Elementalist, and Earth builds enmity and pressures the enemy.
- Spirits can take part in Jointstrike at the same time. The active spirits change the attack's additional effects.
- The client describes the chance for spirit skills to activate; specializations increase that chance. In PvE, this helps generate charges more often and maintain the cycle.
- Level skills for the specializations you need. Skill levels alone are less valuable than unlocking the right slot.
- Global has four stigma slots, unlocked at levels 22, 27, 32, and 37. Plan your setup around these four slots.
- The old claim that Cold Shock automatically continues attacks in one control mode is not confirmed by client data. Check its behavior in the game settings and do not build your rotation around it.
Skill progression and what to take from levels 1–45
Spend skill points on abilities you actually use. Raise core skills to the available specialization thresholds, then distribute remaining points as you earn them. Do not try to develop every option for every skill at once: your specialization choices define each skill's role.
Leveling by stage
- Levels 1–21Level Cold Shock for steady damage and MP recovery. Unlock Fire, Water, and Earth summons so you can compare them and have damage, resource recovery, and a defensive option.
- Levels 22–31Your first stigma slots become available. Choose offensive and empowering stigmas for PvE; do not spread stigma points across every skill at once.
- Levels 32–37The third and fourth slots unlock. Set your PvE loadout, add Ancient Spirit and its buff, then move to the full spirit cycle and Elemental Fusion.
- Levels 38–45Raise your core skills to the thresholds for the specializations you need, and spend spare points on passives. Start a separate PvP bar if you regularly fight other players.
When choosing a skill, first decide whether you need it for your current mode. For solo leveling, Siphon and summons that help you survive a strong enemy are useful; in a group, replace a defensive button with damage when you trust your healing. You can respec later, so do not level rarely used control skills just to fill every row.
Skill point order
- FirstCold Shock and Summon: Fire Spirit: the first deals damage and restores MP, while the second provides your main offensive specialization.
- NextElemental Fusion, Summon: Ancient Spirit, and Jointstrike: Curse: unlock their key effects and support your main cycle.
- ThenWater Spirit and Earth Spirit: improve their activation chance, then raise the spirit you need to its next specialization threshold.
- After the coreInvest in damage and spirit-recovery passives. Keep defensive options for fights where they help.
- For PvPRespec into Soul's Cry, Defiance, defensive passives, and Earth Spirit specializations.
Active skills and specializations
Specializations below are listed in the order of the options in the skill window. This is a recommended starting setup for PvE; the PvP section covers the changes you may need.
Spirits and summons
10% chance to activate skill when Fire Spirit lands attack
+20% Fire Spirit Stats
10% chance to activate skill when Water Spirit lands attack
+20% Water Spirit Stats
10% chance to activate skill when Earth Spirit lands attack
10% chance to activate skill when Wind Spirit lands attack
+10% Ancient Spirit Attack
x1.5 [Spirit's Descent] activation chance and damage for 30s
Ancient Spirit uses skill after 5 basic attacks
Damage and combos
Extra damage after 3s on hit
Changes to Charge Skill, dealing up to 200% more damage
+50% Multi-Hit on hit
-2s cooldown
+15% extra damage taken from Spirit during Corrode
--20% Combat Speed on hit for 10s
Deals up to 12% more damage when less targets are hit
+20% Skill Speed

+50% Multi-Hit chance on hit
+20% MP restored
+2% Attack on landing [Earth Tremor] (Up to 5 stacks)
Restores 20% HP on using [Defiance]
+2s Tenacity duration
Soul's Cry is a control skill for PvP; you do not need it in a regular boss rotation. Rapid Scattershot works on a staggered target, so do not prioritize it over your main attacks and summons.
What changes at later thresholds
| Skill | Starting choice | Further upgrades | When to change |
|---|---|---|---|
| Summon: Fire Spirit | skill activation chance | improve spirit stats at the next available level | give way to Earth in PvP |
| Summon: Water Spirit | skill activation chance | improve spirit stats | keep it active longer if you need MP |
| Summon: Earth Spirit | defensive option and skill activation chance | improve spirit stats | becomes your main summon in PvP |
| Elemental Fusion | damage after a few seconds or elemental enhancement | charged attack, then a chance to regain charges | keep the area option for groups |
| Combustion | increased damage against a small number of targets | faster use and an additional combo | choose Accuracy against an evasive target |
| Jointstrike: Curse | curse duration | reduced cooldown or Multi-Hit | the mobile version is useful in PvP |
Level 20 unlocks a third specialization slot for some active skills. That does not mean every skill should reach 20: level only the skills whose third effect you need. The client shows the unlock level for each option separately.
Passive skills
PvE priorities
Mental Focus is useful if you need psychic effect accuracy and a powerful hit; Revitalization Contract improves resistance to negative effects and can save you at low HP. Leave Spirit's Descent and Consecutive Countercurrent until later, after your main offensive and defensive passives.
Stigmas
Global has four stigma slots, unlocked at levels 22, 27, 32, and 37. For PvE, start with Summon: Ancient Spirit, Enhance: Spirit's Benediction, Flame Blessing, and Jointstrike: Destructive Attack. If you often die, temporarily replace the last one with Siphon.
PvE setup and options
+10% Ancient Spirit Attack
x1.5 [Spirit's Descent] activation chance and damage for 30s
Restores 10% of Max HP on cast
x1.5 [Spirit Strike] Damage Boost effect
+100 Accuracy
+100 Critical Hit
Changes to Charge Skill, dealing up to 200% more [Jointstrike: Destructive Attack] damage
+30% Skill Speed
+20% Skill Speed
+5% HP absorbed
30% of Max HP as Protective Shield for 30s on use
+15% extra damage taken from Spirit during Corrode
--20% Combat Speed on hit for 10s
If you do not need Siphon, keep four offensive stigmas equipped. Level them to the next effect you need; do not distribute resources evenly across all stigmas. The client lists the exact upgrade effects, which may change with balance updates.
PvE: solo and group play
When playing solo, keep Cold Shock for damage and MP, summon spirits according to your health, and remember to use defensive Earth Spirit if an enemy switches to you. Wind Spirit is for healing, not a required part of your damage setup.
In a group boss fight, keep Fire Spirit as your main attacker. Use Water and Earth for brief summons and Jointstrike effects, while Ancient Spirit adds its own damage and supports Elemental Fusion. Apply buffs before summoning Ancient Spirit so it benefits from your stats. In a long fight, maintain Jointstrike: Corrode and refresh it after summoning Ancient Spirit again.
Group priorities
- Buff firstFlame Blessing and Enhance: Spirit's Benediction.
- Then summonSummon: Ancient Spirit while the buffs are active.
- Continue the cycleFire as your main spirit; summon Water and Earth briefly for charges and Jointstrike.
- Spend chargesUse Elemental Fusion when you have four, then start the next cycle.
- Watch your resourceCold Shock, Water, and consumable recovery items help keep the rotation going when MP runs low.
PvP: changes from PvE
Do not carry your PvE macro straight into PvP. Earth Spirit matters more than Fire here: its skill increases enmity and can taunt another character. Watch its HP and summon it again if an opponent kills it quickly.
Soul's Cry and control stigmas become useful. For a melee fight, Magic Block or Seize Magic can help; against a group, choose area control and dispels. Kaisinel's Power is useful when you need Accuracy or resistance to negative effects. Leave room for defense and healing: do not use Siphon before a dangerous window.
PvP adjustments
10% chance to activate skill when Earth Spirit lands attack
+20% Earth Spirit Stats
+50% Multi-Hit on hit
10% chance to remove 1 buff on landing [Earth Tremor]
+100 Skill Accuracy
+20% Skill Speed
Inflicts Root for 5s
-10s cooldown
Removes up to 3 buffs
Inflicts Seal for 5s when removing 3 or more buffs
50% chance to inflict Root for 5s on hit
+2s Seal duration
+15% Status Effect Resist
+150 Accuracy
Cursed Cloud can weaken an opponent with damage over time, but it is easily removed by cleansing. Choose it only when sustained pressure matters more in a particular fight. Summon: Ancient Spirit remains useful for damage, but do not let summoning it take attention away from managing Earth Spirit.
Rotation and macros
PvE rotation
First use Flame Blessing and Enhance: Spirit's Benediction, then summon Ancient Spirit manually. After that, start a repeating attack sequence. Keep buffs and the major summon out of the macro so Ancient Spirit is not summoned before you refresh the buffs.
A convenient repeating slot order is Water summon → Earth summon → Fire summon, followed by Jointstrike: Curse, Elemental Fusion, Dimensional Control, and Combustion. This is a starting point, not a guarantee that every skill will activate: check the queue on a dummy and manually use the chargeable Jointstrike: Destructive Attack. Use Jointstrike: Corrode, or its stigma, after summoning Ancient Spirit again so the empowered spirit can attack under its effect for longer.
If Elemental Fusion does not appear, check your charge count and let a spirit use its skill. If the cycle does not generate enough charges, temporarily add Wind Spirit to the repeating slot early on.
Choosing a macro for your stage
- Early stages and a slow cycle: Summoning all four spirits in sequence can help build charges. An older setup included Wind Spirit for this.
- When Fire, Water, and Earth reliably generate four charges: Remove Wind from the macro and keep three summons. This spends less time on an extra spirit swap.
- PvP: Turn off the automatic spirit cycle. Summon Earth manually and watch its condition; use other skills as the situation calls for.
Global: what we compared
| Topic | Option 1 | Option 2 | How to choose |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wind Spirit in PvE | An early setup adds it until charges build without a fourth summon | A later rotation uses Fire, Water, and Earth, with no Wind | Check your cycle: if three spirits provide four charges, remove Wind; otherwise keep it temporarily |
| Spirit order | The older text puts Water last for MP | The later setup keeps Fire as the main spirit and summons Water and Earth briefly | Keep Water active for a long fight if you run low on MP; give Fire most of the time for boss damage |
| Fifth stigma | An earlier setup suggested Siphon or Jointstrike: Corrode | Global has four slots; the later setup uses four offensive stigmas | Do not plan around a fifth slot. Replace an offensive stigma with Siphon when you need survivability |
| Old effect values | The earlier text gave exact percentages and timers for spirit buffs | Client descriptions do not confirm all those values consistently for Global | This guide keeps only client-supported effects and thresholds; disputed percentages were left out |
Global documentation confirms four stigma slots and their unlock levels: 22, 27, 32, and 37. Current client data confirms all four basic spirits, Ancient Spirit, and their described effects. The client does not store a recommended rotation, stat priority, or conditions under which three summons are guaranteed to give four charges. Those are practical options from two Global guides, not a system rule.
Daevanion
Early on, do not take a long route just to reach one distant node. First take the shortest path to offensive nodes and levels for the active skills you use most. Then fill in the remaining offensive and passive nodes; take defensive nodes as needed.
The Elementalist boards unlock at the levels shown in the client: Nezekan at 12, Zikel at 20, Vaizel at 30, Triniel at 40, and Azphel at 45. Global boards have fewer nodes than some older versions; each available active skill can get one node on the main boards. Consider the shortest route and the cost of the next node level.
Node priorities
- NezekanLook for cooldown reduction and offensive stats; take Combat Speed if it helps your cycle.
- ZikelGet Damage Boost and skip defensive branches while you can handle the mechanics.
- VaizelImprove Critical Damage after you have enough Critical Hit.
- TrinielMove on to Multi-Hit and the remaining offensive nodes.
- AzphelThis is the separate PvP board: start with PvP damage and tolerance, then add Accuracy and resistance to effects as needed.
See the Daevanion page for this class's route and available nodes. Do not copy another class's route for the Elementalist: node layouts and useful skills differ.
Gear and stats
When upgrading gear, check item level first, then suitable stats and skills. The client does not confirm a universal list of specific items or an Accuracy threshold for every boss, so do not replace everything for an unverified "final" set.
PvE stat priority
- Accuracy until your attacks deal normal damage to the current boss. Landing hits alone does not prove that you have enough Accuracy.
- Attack and PvE Damage Boost; against a boss, use Damage Boost against bosses if the item has it.
- Perfect Chance and Critical Hit, then Critical Damage Boost and Multi-Hit as you improve the related passive effects.
- Cooldown reduction and Combat Speed; adjust these after checking your actual summon and skill cycle.
- HP and Defense if you often die or Earth Spirit cannot relieve the pressure.
Use this order to compare available options, not as a strict formula for every item. If you lack Accuracy, temporarily put it ahead of secondary offensive stats. In PvP, use PvP Attack, Accuracy, and resistance to damage or effects; survival matters more than in PvE.
Soul Binding
Look for offensive stats on weapons: Attack, Accuracy, Combat Speed, and Damage Boost. On armor, first keep stats suited to the item and the Spirit Strike and Mental Focus passive skills if those lines are available. Earrings and necklaces are useful for adding offensive passives; rings can add levels to core attack skills up to the next useful threshold. Do not reroll an item for one skill if replacing it would cost you an important stat.
For PvP, do not build armor for damage alone: add Accuracy and defensive stats. Check the full list of lines and values in the Soul Binding window; available lines depend on the item.
| Gear slot | What to check first | Additional notes |
|---|---|---|
| Weapon and off-hand | Combat Speed, Accuracy, Attack, Damage Boost | if Accuracy is low, replace a less important offensive line |
| Armor | unique offensive lines on the item, Accuracy | PvP gear needs Defense and resistance to negative effects |
| Earrings and necklace | offensive passives and Accuracy | do not drop a needed skill below its threshold for a small Attack increase |
| Rings | levels of key offensive skills | reach the needed specializations first, then choose stats |
Line recommendations depend on item quality and whether you have a Philosopher's Stone. Compare the full combination: one good line may not make up for losing a skill level or Accuracy.
Magic Stones
Use rare Magic Stones on gear you expect to wear for a while. In PvE, first make up any missing Accuracy, then add Attack and damage. Once you have enough Accuracy, choose PvE Damage Boost or Damage Boost against bosses; Critical Damage Boost and Weapon Damage Boost are alternatives when better lines are unavailable.
Do not assume a fixed number of lines or a percentage threshold without checking the item: values change with stone and gear quality. In PvP, shift your priority to PvP Accuracy, PvP Attack, and damage resistance.
Arcana
Arcana help fill in stats and skill levels missing from your gear. First reach the needed threshold for your main attack skill, then look for passive skills and offensive stats. In PvE, do not spend synthesis on random skills while an important level is still missing.
The client data used for this article does not confirm a universal set of Arcana names and skills for the Elementalist. Choose cards based on the lines shown in the interface: skill levels, Accuracy, Attack, Damage Boost, and the defensive stats you need. For PvP, look for PvP Accuracy and defense instead of some PvE damage.
For PvE, first add levels to Summon: Fire Spirit, Elemental Fusion, and Jointstrike skills until they reach the thresholds you need. Once these skills have the specializations you want, switch to the Spirit Strike and Spirit Revitalization passives. Do not choose a card solely for an extra skill level if it does not unlock a new effect.
Before synthesis, check which skills the card lets you choose and compare them with the Arcana you already have equipped. It is especially easy for the Elementalist to get duplicate copies of one skill and leave an important summon or passive undeveloped. Upgrading a random line makes sense only after your core skills and offensive stats are covered.
Pet breeds
A pet is a separate character gear system, not one of the class's summoned spirits. Client data shows separate pet types, slots, and stat options. For PvE, choose offensive stats: PvE Damage Boost or Damage Boost against bosses, Weapon Damage Boost, Attack, and Critical Damage Boost. If you are not landing enough hits on bosses, prioritize Accuracy. In PvP, Accuracy, PvP damage, and survivability are more useful.
Special pets have a different set of options. Check the available lines and ranges in the pet interface; exact "good values" and reroll costs have not been confirmed in the data for this article, so no fixed thresholds are given here. First lock in the best offensive or Accuracy slot you have, then change the others.
Do not automatically carry over advice for another class. Accuracy helps the Elementalist because misses slow not only your own attacks, but also charge generation from spirits. If you have enough Accuracy, focus on damage against bosses and Attack; if you often go down, keep one defensive line until you master the mechanics.
Common mistakes
- Keeping one spirit out for the whole fightYou build few charges and get weaker joint attacks → rotate the spirits you need and spend four charges with Elemental Fusion.
- Always keeping Wind Spirit in a later PvE cycleThe extra summon takes time away from your main damage → keep it only if three spirits do not build enough charges or you need healing.
- Counting a resummon as a chargeElemental Fusion requires a spirit skill to be used → wait for the spirit to attack and check the charge count.
- Summoning Ancient Spirit before using buffsThe powerful summon misses the prepared buffs → use Flame Blessing and Enhance: Spirit's Benediction first.
- Automating PvP summonsAn opponent quickly kills Earth Spirit while the macro continues a useless sequence → summon Earth manually and watch its HP.
- Building only damage with too little AccuracyYour attacks deal little damage to the boss → check Accuracy and temporarily put it above secondary offensive stats.
- Spreading stigma points across everythingYou miss important upgrades → invest up to the next useful threshold and finish your core PvE setup first.
Pre-dungeon checklist
Elementalist readiness
- PvE stigmas are selected for the four available slots;
- Fire Spirit is ready as your main attacker, and Water and Earth are available for the cycle;
- Ancient Spirit is summoned after your buffs;
- Elemental Fusion is on your bar and used after you get four charges;
- Cold Shock is available for damage and MP recovery;
- you have enough Accuracy for the current boss and enough Defense to survive its attacks;
- PvP control skills are not taking up space in your PvE rotation without a reason.
Key takeaways
In PvE, keep Fire Spirit as your main attacker and use Water and Earth summons for charges and joint attacks. Buff first, then summon Ancient Spirit and spend four charges with Elemental Fusion. In PvP, manage Earth Spirit manually and add control and defense. If an early cycle cannot build enough charges without Wind Spirit, keep it temporarily and test again later.
