Class overview
The Sorcerer is a ranged fighter with strong single-target and area attacks. Fire skills deal most of your damage, while water skills slow, freeze, or restrain enemies. The class is strongest when several buffs and debuffs overlap, but struggles when an enemy gets close and interrupts a long cast.
In PvE, your job is to fit powerful attacks into a short boss vulnerability window without wasting time on skills the boss can withstand or avoid. In PvP, create distance and prevent your opponent from attacking before opening your fire damage window.
Two sides of the class
What you need to know
- Skill specializations appear at skill levels 8, 12, and 20. These are separate thresholds; spend points and Daevanion nodes to unlock the options you need, not just to increase the damage number.
- Fire Arrow restores 100 MP on hit. Use it when your MP is running low, and choose the matching specialization.
- Absorb Essence restores MP when you attack. Level this passive early: it supports both your damage and the resource you need for your next actions.
- Robe of Earth strengthens your character at 50% MP or higher, while Grace of Enhancement keeps its bonus at 25% MP or higher. Repeatedly using expensive skills without a reason weakens you.
- Hellfire has up to three charge stages. Fully charge it and release it manually. A macro makes it harder to control the charge and timing.
- Frost Burst has a 7% chance to trigger when attacking a frozen target that is immune to immobilization. Do not build your regular rotation around this random trigger.
- Fire Wall and Cold Storm are ground-targeted skills. They are more useful if the target stays in their area. When a boss moves, switch to skills you can quickly use at its new position.
Skill progression and what to level from 1–45
A skill level is not always the best use of your points. Check which specialization option it unlocks at levels 8, 12, and 20, and prioritize skills that are part of your build. Level active and passive skills in parallel: first take your core attacks and MP recovery, then defense and less essential skills.
Leveling by stage
- 1–7Level Fire Arrow and Absorb Essence. Add Firestorm and Ice Chain: the first provides steady fire damage, while the second slows groups.
- 8–11Unlock the first specializations. For Fire Arrow, choose MP recovery; for Firestorm, reduced MP cost; for Hellfire, skill speed or damage over time. If mobility matters more, take mobile options where available.
- 12–21Raise priority skills to 12 to unlock the next specialization: Fire Arrow, Firestorm, Blaze, Hellfire, and Wish of Concentration. Take available nodes on the Nezekan board, then Zikel. Do not spend extra skill levels between thresholds if that delays another skill you need.
- 22–31At character levels 22 and 27, equip your first two stigmas. Start with Element Enhancement, then choose damage or defense for your activity. Keep unlocking skill nodes and offensive Daevanion nodes.
- 32–39At levels 32 and 37, equip your third and fourth stigmas. Add area damage for dungeons; leave room for control and a defensive skill in PvP.
- 40–45The Triniel and Azphel boards unlock. Move core attacks toward their level 16 specializations when available; choose Azphel nodes and PvP defense based on your content.

If you are short on points, first raise an active stigma to the next useful threshold. Do not spread points thinly across all of them: choose a specific effect that unlocks at level 5, 10, 15, or 20.
Global: what we compared
| Topic | Option | When to choose it |
|---|---|---|
| MP cost and damage | Early on, choose specializations that reduce MP costs and restore MP. Later, favor damage and cooldown options. | Shift your priorities when your MP is stable and stays above the passive skill thresholds. |
| Macro | A manual sequence helps you learn the class and pause for mechanics. A macro makes it easier to repeat a tested sequence against a stationary target. | Play manually while leveling, when cooldowns are not ready, or when the target moves often; use a macro only when it does not interfere with dodging or timing your attacks. |
| Stigmas | Global has four slots, unlocked at character levels 22, 27, 32, and 37. Longer build lists do not mean you can equip all those skills at once. | Make separate PvE and PvP sets and choose four skills for the task at hand. |
| Daevanion | Some guides show boards from a different data version. The Global client confirms the Sorcerer boards and unlock levels 12, 20, 30, 40, and 45; Global data notes that the boards are smaller here. | Use the idea of finding the nodes you need, but check the route, cost, and values on the Global board. |
PvE: solo and group play
Solo
Start a regular target with Wish of Concentration and Element Enhancement, then use Delayed Explosion and charged Hellfire if the target will survive the sequence. Against several enemies, place Fire Wall or Cold Storm where they will stay, then finish them with Ice Chain or other ready attacks.
Keep your MP above the passive skill thresholds. Use Flame Arrow to restore MP, not only when every other skill is on cooldown. If an enemy is dangerous, save Defiance and your shield for when control or a strong attack is a real threat.
Group and boss
Time your strong sequence with the boss's short vulnerability window. Apply the Delayed Explosion debuff, place area damage where the target will stay, then use charged Hellfire and follow up with ready attacks. Blaze requires Fire Mark on the target; do not use it before that condition is met.
If the boss moves often, replace stationary area skills with more reliable single-target actions and a specialization that lets you move. If your group needs more survivability, equip Steel Barrier instead of an offensive stigma and stay clear of dangerous areas.
PvP: what changes from PvE
In PvE, you can place area damage in advance and begin a long charge. Against a player, create an opening first: keep your distance, wait for your opponent to spend their gap closer or control skill, then use Curse: Tree or Soul Freeze before switching to fire damage. Frost and Bittercold Wind can stop an approach; do not use them back-to-back without checking your opponent's position.
In PvP, avoid breaking your own control with stray damage: after Curse: Tree, any hit removes the target's mutation. Save Defiance for dangerous control, and activate Steel Barrier before an expected counterattack. If your opponent is already close and your damage window has closed, back off and restore distance instead of standing still to charge Hellfire.
Rotation and macros
Boss damage window
Preparation and sequence
- 01 — BuffsUse Wish of Concentration and Element Enhancement when you are ready to attack without having to retreat.
- 02 — DebuffApply Delayed Explosion: until it triggers, the target takes more damage from you.
- 03 — Main chargeFully charge Hellfire and release it manually.
- 04 — Follow-upUse Blaze if Fire Mark is active, then use other ready attacks. With the right specialization, each Firestorm projectile reduces Hellfire's cooldown.
- 05 — Resource and positionRestore MP with Flame Arrow when your reserve is low; move out of danger and preserve your MP bonuses.
Later on, use Wish of Concentration with the all-skill cooldown specialization after your main skills are already on cooldown. The reduction can then help start your next sequence. Do not expect every skill to line up in each cycle; act based on availability and the boss mechanics.
Macro
One option for relaxed PvE is to put regular repeatable attacks in a macro and keep buffs and Hellfire on separate keys. The skill rows and delay depend on your game settings; start with a short chain of available skills and check that the macro does not prevent movement.
The other option is to play manually. This is more convenient while leveling, when cooldowns are not ready, and in dungeons with frequent mechanics: you can stop attacking, leave an area, and choose the right control skill. A macro is suitable once you know the cycle and can use it safely against a stationary target. Do not put control, defense, a long charge, or a skill with a condition into a repeating chain.
Macro delay settings are covered in the Skill Macros guide.
Daevanion

Boards unlock as your character levels up. The client data lists Nezekan at 12, Zikel at 20, Vaizel at 30, Triniel at 40, and Azphel at 45 for the Sorcerer. Global data notes that Global boards are smaller, but the principle is the same: available boards have nodes for every active skill, raising skills to the specialization thresholds you need.
First take the shortest route to nodes for key active skills and offensive stats. Early on, prioritize Flame Arrow, Firestorm, Blaze, Hellfire, and Wish of Concentration. Then take nodes for Absorb Essence, Robe of Flame, and damage stats. Add defensive nodes as needed for PvP and dangerous dungeons. You can rebuild the board, so do not spend points on distant nodes just to make the route look symmetrical.
Do not invest blindly in resistances if survivability is not a problem right now. Unlock each board when it becomes available and compare the route cost with the skill threshold or stat it will give you.
See the Sorcerer board in the Daevanion section.
Gear and stats
As you level, equip items with a more suitable item level; do not keep old gear just for one attractive stat line. For an endgame build, look for stats that speed up the use and reuse of key skills and increase Sorcerer damage.
Stat priorities
- 1. Accuracy and effect accuracyThese help your attacks and control land on your target. The client data in this guide does not confirm an exact cap for a particular boss or player; use the target's resistance and your hit results as a guide.
- 2. Combat speed and cooldown reductionThese speed up your attack cycle and help you reach your strong damage window more often.
- 3. ATK, damage boost, and Double ChanceThese increase direct damage; compare the full stat lines on items, not just the item level.
- 4. Critical hitUseful, but assess its value alongside accuracy and your other offensive stats.
- 5. Max MP and MP recoveryEspecially valuable until you can reliably stay above the Robe of Earth and Grace of Enhancement thresholds.
- 6. HP, DEF, and resistancesAdd these if you die before finishing your sequence or are often controlled.
For PvP, increase mental effect accuracy and defense if your control does not land or an opponent regularly interrupts you. Do not sacrifice all your survivability for another offensive stat: the Sorcerer deals damage only while able to keep distance and finish actions.
For more on gear progression, see the Stats guide.
Manastones
Manastones grant random bonus stats. Do not try to get a perfect line on every temporary item: replace your gear first, then invest rarer stones in an item you will keep for a long time.
For PvE, choose lines that cover accuracy, then increase attack, damage, combat speed, or cooldown reduction. In PvP, effect accuracy and defensive stats matter more if they are what prevent you from completing your sequence. Check the line name and value in the client; an exact Sorcerer accuracy cap is not confirmed here.
Arcana
Arcana grant stats and can include skill levels. Global has five Arcana slots. First collect suitable cards, then enhance the ones that rolled the skills you need: each enhancement level adds one to the item's level.
The client Arcana tables divide skill pools by card type. This helps show where to look for Sorcerer skills:
| Arcana type | Sorcerer skills in the client pool | What to look for in this build |
|---|---|---|
| Grail | Hellfire, Wish of Concentration, Flame Arrow, Blaze, and several other active and passive skills | Core attacks and buffs; choose the biggest gap in your build. |
| Parchment | Firestorm, Blaze, Hellfire, Flame Arrow, Frost Burst, Wish of Concentration | A level for a skill that will often be ready in your rotation. |
| Compass | Ice Chain, Winter's Shackles, Frost, Bittercold Wind, Defiance, and Flame Scattershot | Control, removal of effects, and utility actions. |
| Bell | Passives Fire Mark, Cold Snap, Robe of Cold, Grace of Resistance, Revitalization Contract | Boost passive damage or resistance to control. |
| Mirror | Passives Robe of Earth, Robe of Flame, Absorb Essence, Grace of Enhancement, Vitality Evaporation | Core passives that support damage and MP. |
Card quality affects item level and the available pool. Global data lists card item levels as 20 for Common, 40 for Rare, 60 for Blue, and 80 for Unique; enhancement raises them to +5. Do not plan for one specific skill in a fixed slot in advance: choose your final combination from the cards you actually get.
Pet type
When choosing a pet, assess its stat set, not just its name. The client includes Cogni, Fera, Natura, Varia, and Special types; the available stat lines vary by type.
For PvE, first look for PvE damage boost or a suitable general offensive stat in an available slot. For PvP, prioritize effect accuracy and defense if you cannot keep an opponent controlled or survive their counterattack. In slots with critical hit or accuracy, choose whichever stat your character lacks. HP and MP provide a practical reserve for steadier fights once your offensive lines are sufficient.
Do not lock an average line too early: locking increases the cost of later rerolls. Compare several options in important slots first, then lock the stat that fills a real gap in your build.
Common mistakes
Mistake → consequence → fix
- Using Hellfire before it is fully charged→ you lose much of its powerful hit → keep it on a separate key and release it after a full charge when the mechanics allow.
- Putting Hellfire in a repeating macro→ its charge and timing become unpredictable → keep it on a manual key.
- Spending MP on every skill without a break→ Robe of Earth and Grace of Enhancement bonuses fall off → watch your reserve and weave in Flame Arrow.
- Placing area damage on a moving target→ the boss leaves Fire Wall or Cold Storm → place them according to the mechanics or switch to mobile attacks.
- Attacking right after Curse: Tree→ the hit removes mutation before your planned window → line up your next skill first, then begin the sequence.
- Using Defiance on the first weak effect→ it is unavailable for dangerous control → save it for a moment that stops you escaping or completing your sequence.
- Standing still to charge while a player attacks→ control interrupts your charge and costs you distance → move away, defend yourself, or use control first.
- Leveling every stigma a little→ none of the useful effects unlock → bring a selected stigma to its next threshold.
- Choosing a pet and manastones by one big number→ accuracy, damage, MP, and defense become unbalanced → compare the full set of stat lines and the actual problem in the fight.
Checklist before a dungeon or PvP
Sorcerer ready
- Absorb Essence is leveled for MP recovery, and your rotation keeps you above the threshold for the passive you need;
- Hellfire is on a manual key;
- Element Enhancement is in the appropriate stigma set;
- no more than four stigmas are equipped, and the right set is selected for PvE or PvP;
- Defiance and a defensive skill are available before a dangerous mechanic;
- Delayed Explosion and Fire Mark are used with their conditions in mind;
- area damage is placed where the enemy will stay;
- your macro does not interfere with movement, and control and defense do not trigger automatically;
- your Daevanion board and Arcana raise the skills you need toward their next specialization thresholds;
- your gear, manastones, and pet cover missing stats instead of duplicating stats you already have enough of.
The key points
The Sorcerer deals damage in short sequences: maintain your MP, weaken the target before a powerful attack, and release fully charged Hellfire manually. In PvE, choose a moment when the boss will stay inside your area attacks; in PvP, create distance and a control window first. If the fight goes wrong, survival and positioning matter more than one more attack.
